Äntligen har det blivit dags att kunna dela med oss av att flertalet av våra skandinaviska stjärnor kommer att pegga upp på Vasatorps Golfklubb den 6-9 juni på Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed.
Vår mästarinna från 2022, Linn Grant får sällskap av bland annat Sveriges senaste vinnare på DP-World Tour, Jesper Svensson om några månader. Biljetter finns att köpa här.
Tävlingen som är ett samarbete mellan DP World Tour och Ladies European Tour, har ett fält med 78 herrar och 78 damer som tävlar om samma prispott och samma pokal. Linn Grant skrev historia år 2022 när hon blev den första kvinnliga vinnaren av en DP World Tour tävling, med en nio slags ledning på Halmstad Golfklubb.
”Jag ser mycket fram emot att spela Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed igen”, säger Grant. ”Min vinst för två år sedan var ett så stort ögonblick och det kommer alltid vara kul att komma hem och spela tävlingen. Särskild denna gången, eftersom vi spelar i min hemmastad. Jag ser väldigt mycket fram emot det.”
Svensson har haft ett lysande bra rookie-år på DP World Tour efter att han tagit sig upp från Challenge Touren och fick sin plats i Race to Duabi 2024.
28-åringen slutade tvåa på två av sina första sex tävlingar denna säsongen, innan han fick njuta av sin första seger på Porsche Singapore Classic förra månaden.
För tillfället som trea på Race to Dubai rankingen i samarbete med Rolex, säger Svensson: ”Detta blir första gången jag får spela inför hemmapublik sedan min vinst, så jag ser mycket fram emot att dela mina framgångar med publiken. Det har varit en bra start på året hittills, och jag skulle givetvis vilja fortsätta på samma spår nere på Vasatorp i juni.”
Linn och Jesper får sällskap i Helsingborg av DP World Tour vinnarna Alexander Björk och Sebastian Söderberg tillsammans med Johanna Gustavsson och femfaldiga Solheim Cup stjärnan Caroline Hedwall, som också bekräftat att de ska spela.
Som representant från Danmark kommer den fyrfaldiga DP World Tour vinnaren Rasmus Højgaard att spela tävlingen för första gången. 23 åringen kommer att sikta på sin andra seger i regionen efter att ha tagit hem Made in Himmerland på hemmaplan förra säsongen.
“Jag ser fram emot att spela tävlingen för första gången”, säger Højgaard. ”Det kommer att bli väldigt spännande att ställas mot spelarna på Ladies European Tour. Det kommer bli en grym vecka, och eftersom tävlingen spelas så nära Danmark hoppas jag på att många fans kommer över för att stötta inte bara mig utan även de andra danska spelarna.”
Solheim Cup spelaren från 2019, Anne van Dam kommer också att spela tävlingen i år, efter att ha kommit trea i förra årets upplaga av tävlingen. Belgiskan är en femfaldig vinnare på LET och spelade tillsammans med Hedwall på Gleneagles för fem år sedan.
Världsrankingpoäng kommer att tilldelas på båda Tourerna, likaså poäng för Race to Dubai och Race to Costa del Sol samt poäng till Solheim Cup för damerna.
Jonathan Caldwell vann den första upplagan av tävlingen för tre år sedan, följt av historiska Linn Grant och förra årets vinnare Dale Whitnell.
